Sea Caves on Lake Superior

The action water and wind have carved caves out of the shore of Lake Superior at the Apostle Islands in northern Wisconsin. These are near Little Sand Bay.

With the Double Eagles

During the first snowfall of the season a week and a half ago I looked out and there were the two eagles in the tree across the lake. The hints of color still in the leaves contrasted nicely with the snow and black and white of the birds.

Middle of the Rhine

I believe this is Pfalzgrafenstein. It is a picture from 1970 when I spent the summer in Austria and Germany. More recent pictures show this castle as white.

Beauty on the Waterfront

This is the Lake Harriet Bandshell along the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis. It has such a unique place there along the lake with the sailboats in the back. I have never been there for a concert, but I bet it would be fun.

At Lock and Dam # 6

The lock has just opened to let the pleasure boat go north on the Mississippi at Lock and Dam # 6 at Trempealeau, WI. It was a Sunday and few barges were traveling. That would be interesting.

Two Years & 263 Pictures Later

Just A Change of Focus

The picture was dull, average, a dandelion and some lily pads. Then I shifted the focus to the distant reflected trees and a new vision occurs. Perhaps a metaphor?
