Oldie, But Goodie
No, I didn't take this picture. My dad did. That's me in the middle between my mother and my younger (and only) brother. This is at Rockefeller Center in New York City and was taken in 1955 (I think.) I do know that there were only 48 stars on that flag in the background. I just like the way this picture looks and wanted to share it.
Scanned from slide.

Hopeful Stares
As the boat approached Liberty Island, I was struck by the fact that this very same view has been seen for so many, many years by so many, many people. Most of those in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries were filled with hope. They would stare, I am sure, unable to believe that they had made it. The land of the free and the home of the brave.

Inside Liberty
I don't know whether you can do this anymore or not in this post-9/11 world. But back in 1993 we could take this long hike up the Statue of Liberty and get this view of the structure inside. This is scanned from a 35mm slide. It continues the theme of lines and angles that shows up from time to time around here.

A Transparent Building
This is one of the buildings right behind Ground Zero in New York City. It almost looks like you can see through it to the clouds on the other side.

Lines and Reflections
New York has more interesting angles and places to take pictures. Like this one in Times Square. I love following lines of sight and seeing reflections. But there's always something that makes it stand out- like the lamp post on the left. It appeard out of place- yet fits. The wonders of NYC.
