Roman Aqueduct

Roman.Segovia
Back to Segovia, Spain for a picture of a truly ancient human accomplishment. This is the Roman Aqueduct built by those Romans 2000 years ago. Built without mortar it is still an engineering achievement. (Note the size by the people along the base.)

Eagle Stare Down

EagleStare
We were across the Creek from each other along the Pine Creek Rail Trail. He kept a close eye on me. I took pictures. He won the stare-down- I left first.

Wilderness No Parking

Sumac1
At a campsite along the Pine Creek Rail Trail, I couldn't resist the semi-irony in the signs and setting. Well, at least I found it interesting.

A Run Out of the Hill

Run

Old Railroad Bridge

CedarRunBridge
The bridge over Pine Creek near Cedar Run, PA. What makes these bridges so interesting is the angle of the beams compared to the bikeway. That is because the beams are set more parallel to the creek bed.

Yellow Gold

Moreyellow
After the hundreds of shades of green, yellow-gold may be the most common color this time of year along the Pine Creek Rail Trail.

This Weekend

Jun10 01 007
The west side of Pine Creek nearing its end. The Bald Eagle Mountain is seen in the distance at the "gap" where the Creek enters the Susquehanna. This is where I will be at the end of my 60 miles for age 60 on Monday afternoon.
